Sixth out of ten *Avatara* of *Mahavidyas*.

Chinnamasta is different from other goddesses. She is fierce and vidya is limited to yogis or tantric because of her immense uncontrollable power.

She is a divine self-decapitated Goddess, also known as *Prachanda Chandika*. She is depicted as holding her own severed head and a scimitar in another. She drinks her own blood from one jet out of her neck and the other two by Dakini and Varnini. She is standing on a copulating couple on a lotus.
She is covered with serpents tread around her neck and a garland of skulls.

Even if the depiction of the goddess is dark and fearsome, she illustrates the intrinsic part of life i.e life, death and sex. She is a symbol of a taker and a giver at the same time. Life and Death! Cycles will go on and you need to accept them as they are and move towards liberation.

Sacrificing herself and feeding her own blood leads us to three essential *gunas*, *Sattvaguna*, *Rajoguna*, *Tamoguna*.

Interestingly the yantras are not fearsome and can help you with dealing with your legal battles and thus enchanted with mantras.

The third yantra is dark and thus represents night and the realm of the moon. Feminine power and the motive.
